Iris Shamus, founder and CEO of AllerMates, started the company after being inspired by her son, Ben’s, food allergies. She wanted to find a way to teach him about his health concerns in a way that was fun and non-intimidating. So, she drew up a few allergy-related characters, now known as the AllerMates gang, and wrote funny stories and poems about them. When she realized how much her son loved the characters and how well it helped him understand his allergies, she knew she had to introduce it to kids everywhere, and AllerMates was born.

Now, AllerMates has grown into a line of medical alert bracelets, medicine bags, lunch bags, activity books, and more, all designed to keep kids with food allergies safe with a smile on their faces! Together, Iris and the AllerMates community work to raise awareness and keep kids with food allergies free from harm!

I’m so glad it’s summer vacation for my daughters. I get to spend more time with them. Although it can be hard to come up with ideas for the kids during summer. How many of you have heard your kids say “I’m bored” or “there is nothing to do” while your kids are out of school? Sometimes I get that from my daughters. They get bored and feel like there is nothing to do.

One of the things my girls love to do a lot, is build things and do craft type projects. Those are the types of things I love to get for them for the summer too. It keeps them busy during the time school is off, and they don’t get bored easily. I was lucky enough to get two items from Incredibuilds for my daughters.

We chose Finding Dory and a butterfly 3d wood model for my daughters. These are great for kids, because they get to paint and build them themselves. I helped my daughters out with the building part, but they were able to paint these all by themselves.

Pets have always played a huge important role in my life. Without them life wouldn’t be as exciting as it is. I think pets always make life more enjoyable. It’s great to be home while you have pets around you that love you and always want to be in your company. If you have a dog, then you know that they get very excited every time you come home. They usually meet you at the door with their tails wagging. It’s a wonderful site to see how happy they are.

Sometimes pets come with more than just love. How many of you have had a dog that has been sick or had fleas? This is such a terrible thing that we don’t want our pets to get. I would never want any of my pets to have to get sick. They’re family to me and I love them like I love all of my family.
